Book Club for June

This time when we gather, June 10 at 6 p.m., participants can bring their favorite book - from any era of life - and tell the others what made it tops. If not the favorite, maybe you have a book that stayed with you long after you finished it. Another option is to check out a book from Middleway's extensive library and tell us about it. We love learning about new books to consider.

Spirituality of Breadmaking: Loafing Around

We're into our third year of breadmaking with a heaping serving of spirituality, and we've made seven different types of bread, letting each one lead us to see what rises in our souls.

But there's one we haven't done: A traditional sandwich bread. We really need to loaf around this summer, June 28, 9 a.m.-Noon. Registration required.

IN THE NEWS

THE BATTALION

The monastery presents itself spiritually as humbly as it does physically. Taking its name from the ancient phrase "via media," it is a picture of moderation between the "high" and "low" churches of the area

THE EAGLE

“My experience of church is churches are built for extroverts. It’s harder to find those quiet moments in a church’s life. … A place dedicated toward spirituality, meditation, contemplation, I think is necessary.”

KBTX

On Friday evening, the Middleway Urban Monastery offered people the opportunity to walk for peace, as a form of experiential prayer, for the situation in Ukraine and other parts of the world in chaos.
