Common Threads
Let's spin a yarn together. Bring your yarn or other thread art and join us for a visit while creating. There is no agenda or topic. We're also glad to share tips or even help you learn crochet (yarn and hooks are available to practice) or embroidery (we have some floss, needles, aida and even some kits if needed). We even have fabric if you want to try slow stitch. The next gathering will be at 1:30 p.m., July 2.

Book Club for JuLY
When we gather, July 8 at 6 p.m., our book discussion will be on Ladder of Years by Anne Tyler. Hope to see you then!

FRIDAY MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS
Center yourself and find peace in the midst of your busy life. Friday Meditation and Mindfulness, led by Becky Burks, meets twice monthly at 12:30 p.m. The next times: Friday, July 11 and July 25. NOTE: it usually meets first and third Fridays but is changing for July because Middleway will be closed July 4.

IN THE NEWS

THE BATTALION
The monastery presents itself spiritually as humbly as it does physically. Taking its name from the ancient phrase "via media," it is a picture of moderation between the "high" and "low" churches of the area

THE EAGLE
“My experience of church is churches are built for extroverts. It’s harder to find those quiet moments in a church’s life. … A place dedicated toward spirituality, meditation, contemplation, I think is necessary.”

KBTX
On Friday evening, the Middleway Urban Monastery offered people the opportunity to walk for peace, as a form of experiential prayer, for the situation in Ukraine and other parts of the world in chaos.
