Go for a daily pick

Middleway Urban Monastery Team

Dear Middleway Urban Monastery friends,

Pick one. You can't do it all. Just pick one.

As we load the calendar each week at Middleway Urban Monastery, it could seem overwhelming. But, we circle back to our mission ... to provide space for those seeking hope, comfort and peace as they explore ways of experiencing God’s love.

So keep your space. Don't try to do everything we offer (unless you want to). Instead, pick one thing to try for a week. Perhaps set an alarm to remind you to do Centering Prayer each morning, or to simply read the daily prayer for current issues, or listen to the Epiphany meditation. Next week, try something else daily. Or, mix it up and try one different thing every day.

The main thing is for you to recognize hope in your life, to feel comfortable and peaceful, and to experience God's love.

Read about what's going on at Middleway below. Make a note to check out our Facebook group page or website.

Book club updates

Calling all ragamuffins.

If your life ever has been a mess or maybe still is, wonderful! Yes, wonderful. Our book of the month will assure you that God loves you no. matter. what.

"Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out" is the book for February. Our discussion of chapters 4-6 this week will be led by Middleway member Tricee Fuson from Memphis, Tenn. That's right. No matter where you live, you can hop on zoom at 7 p.m. Central and join the conversation. And even if you missed the first three chapters, it's ok. You can catch up. Mainly we want you to know you're not alone in the mess.
