Dear Middleway Urban Monastery friends,
Each week, we seek inspiration to fill this space and give you some pointers on finding hope, comfort and peace as you seek God. This week, as we approach the official first day of spring, writing this newsletter has been a challenge. The picture window beyond the laptop frames a view of a pond where deer have come at dusk to graze and drink before bedding down. The sunset illuminates gnarly oak trees whose naked limbs reveal a hint of green popping out of tight buds.
How can one turn from such a view to suggest ways of finding God through the offerings at Middleway?
Truth is, the tranquility of the scene is hopeful, comforting and peaceful...just what we hope is replicated in your life through whatever means you experience. Middleway has prayer times, reflections and meditations to help. We have community through our book club, if you like sharing your thoughts and ideas about God through the reading of a common book each month. Look to Middleway to help give you tools to move forward in your spiritual journey.
But, if all you need is to sit back, close your eyes and imagine the deer at the pond, or to set your eyes on the vision in your own living space, that's fine, too. God is everywhere. "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near." Isaiah 55.
